Naturopathic Sports Nutrition

This 13 module course is a introduction to the practices and principles of sports nutrition as they can be used by Naturopaths, Nutritionists, personal trainers etc. The course itself is taken from an interactive online class so the videos are more casual and conversational rather than just lectures. Participants were able to ask questions during the lectures and thus there is a 'real time' feel to the modules. Most of the questions came from fellow practitioners or final year students though there were participants that were avid athletes and they added questions and information that will be similar to clients questions in regards to application of the principles. The modules range in length from 1-2 hours and a few of the modules are review and questions rather than new information. The class in total has over 20 hours of video and will give the student a solid beginning to the application of sports nutrition.

This is a educational class but does not offer a 'qualification' of any kind. Certificates of completion can be attained but it does not qualify you to call yourself a sports nutritionist.

  • Working with children and teens
  • The vegetarian athlete
  • The female athlete triad
  • Body measurements / assessment
  • Natural therapies, supplements, Drugs in sport, drug testing and its guidelines
  • Working with athletes, how that differs from regular clients
  • Case studiesĀ
